Charlie Kirk was murdered in cold blood today. My phone buzzed at 2:20 today and Steven was texting me and said, "mom, no way Charlie Kirk just got shot". I immediately started searching for information and was just sick when I saw the video of him getting shot in the neck, during one of his campus tours.
I fan girl'd over seeing him at the Charlotte airport on one of my many trips to Hallie a few years back. He was very tall, and used to having people "fan girl" over him.
He had just spoken out about the press not reporting fairly or accurately about the murder of the Ukrainian girl on the mass transit in Charlotte. He complained about "Career criminals" and how that can even be a thing. If you're a criminal, you go to jail. You don't get to pass go or make your $200.
I am praying for his wife and two babies. I read that they were there and witnessed it, I pray that isn't true. His wife had posted a bible verse earlier today Psalm 48:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. I pray that over her and her children.
If you find any part of this tragedy ok, you are definitely part of the problem. No one should be murdered for speaking their truth. He encouraged debate, he spoke Jesus over thousands of college students and people.
He didn't deserve to die. His children did not deserve to lose their daddy. We must do better, we have to do better.
